Pseudotumor Cerebri

“Dr. Shehadi has performed 2 surgeries on my brain, placing a vp shunt to drain excess spinal fluid due to pseudotumor cerebri. He treated me like a friend not just a patient. He is very kind and compassionate. My family were all very impressed by him as well as he is very approachable and easy to talk to. I recommend Dr. Shehadi to anyone I know needing a brain or spinal surgery!”

Meningioma

“He took excellent care of me after I was diagnosed with a meningioma. Dr. Shehadi was open for any questions and always kind and caring. I thank God for sending me to him for my surgery. He and his nurse, Angie, were so good to me before and after my surgery. I recently celebrated my six month anniversary of my surgery. I thank Dr. Shehadi for taking excellent care of me and removing 100% of my tumor. Thanks to his skillfulness as an excellent surgeon I am doing great!”

Meningioma

“It’s now been six years since Dr. Shehadi removed my brain tumor. It was the most frightening time of my life. I had all the fears and questions that anyone diagnosed with a brain tumor has. I was beside myself. No matter how much my husband and family tried to calm me and support me, what did they know?
Thankfully we were referred by a good friend to Dr. Shehadi. From the moment he walked in the room I felt good. He was so reassuring letting me know he would do everything within his power to make sure I would be ok. He had a way of making me feel comfortable and at ease. I did not feel like just another patient. I felt like his only patient. I was not looking forward to the surgery, but I had a great feeling about Dr. Shehadi.
The surgery lasted far longer than expected and the tumor was much larger than expected. We had hoped that I had a Meningioma, a benign tumor on the inner lining of my skull. But this did not grow like the typical Meningioma, it grew out though my skull. It was a long 10 days waiting for the results of my biopsy. Even while we discussed best and worst case scenarios, Dr. Shehadi kept me upbeat and confident that whatever the outcome he and I would beat it.
Thankfully, our prayers were answered when the biopsy confirmed it was indeed a benign Meningioma. I’ve just had my 6th anniversary of the surgery. There is no sign of it coming back. As with all tough times in life, we find blessings if we care to look for personality, his passion for his work and patients, and his confidence in his ability, were the perfect combination I needed to get through this.
I would be glad to talk to anyone who may find themselves in the same position I was. I will tell you that you could not be in better hands. In trying times you want more than a skillful surgeon, you need caring, compassion, encouragement and maybe even a hug. I found all of that in Dr. Shehadi.”

Brain Tumor

“I had been recently operated on for colon cancer when they discovered (through MRI imaging) that I had a brain tumor. The scary part was, no one knew for sure whether the tumor was cancerous or benin. Dr. Innes, who was the surgeon that performed my colon operation, highly recommended me to see Dr. Joseph Shehadi. He assured me that he was the top in his field.
I had invited my brothers Charles and Carl to come with me on my visit to Dr. Shehadi so they could help me interpret what was being said (mind you I just had been released from Grant Hospital recuperating from my colon cancer operation). My first encounter with Dr. Shehadi, I can truly say, was not pleasant because of the fear that I had about the possibility that the tumor might be cancerous, and the fact that I had to be operated on once again, was just too overwhelming. I must say, after Dr. Shehadi sat my brothers and I down and explained the procedure in detail in lay person’s terms (without a lot of medical jargon), I felt at ease. As a matter of fact, I was quite anxious for the operation to be over because of the comfort and certainty that Dr. Shehadi had instilled in me.
My operation was scheduled for 10:00 a.m., however, I had to be at the hospital at 6:00 a.m. that morning. I can honestly say that I went into that operating room without any doubt or fear because of the reassurance that Dr. Shehadi had given me. I was released from the hospital (5) days later and I returned to work on the (6th) day without any complication.
To my surprise, it’s been a whole year since my operation (December 2006), I haven’t had any kind of headache (I used to be bottled down constantly with headaches for 20 years). NO MORE!!! Also, to my amazement, my surgical scar-THERE IS NONE!!! My surgery was a SUCCESS!!!
Because of the kindness, caring, and comfort that Dr. Shehadi had administered, my brothers and I have become close friends with him. Dr. Shehadi, your generosity will always be noted. Thanks for everything.
To all who read this testimony, if you have doubts or have fears about Dr. Shehadi, please feel free to write me or call me anytime. I will definitely reassure you that Dr. Shehadi is the Best!”

Pseudotumor Cerebri

“I have psuedotumor of the cerebri, which is a painful illness that affects my spinal fluid and brain.
After many painful years, Jesus directed me to some wonderful physicians and Dr. Shehadi was one of them.
I met Dr. Shehadi for a VP shunt surgery to manage my condition. I had many questions and concerns as did my family. Dr. Shehadi clearly answered our questions and tried to rest our concerns. Dr. Shehadi showed compassion, understanding, and a positive outlook. He expressed his professional ability and gave encouragement during a time of uncertainly and uneasiness.
In February of 2007, I had a problem with my shunt, and was extremely pleased to know that Dr. Shehadi returned to the Columbus area after being in Colorado. I felt relief to know that Dr. Shehadi had returned and once again my trust would be in his and the Lords hands.
There is no doubt that the Lord has directed us meeting each other. I have had two brain surgeries by Dr. Shehadi and I have complete respect and appreciation for his excellent ability and understanding of the need for his help. God bless Dr. Shehadi and his staff for contributing to my improved health.”

Occipital Neuralgia

“After suffering from severe migraines since the age of 16 and debilitating migraine and occipital neuralgia for more than 5 years, I was fortunate to be referred to Dr. Joseph Shehadi. Thankfully he compassionately understood my pain and implanted an Occipital Stimulator on my occipital nerve in 2008. It has now been over a year since surgery and I continue to improve. Having the Occipital Stimulator implanted by Dr. Shehadi is the best thing I’ve ever done. God bless you Dr. Shehadi for taking a chance on me and for caring about your patients.”
